Benview – Case Studies

Project summary:

These homeowners wanted a better flow and functionality for their home in Fort Worth. They had a very cramped and crowded kitchen with lots of walls and narrow walkways. Their elderly parents on walkers found it difficult to maneuver throughout the kitchen yet craved their independence in preparing snacks and participating in daily meal preparation.

While the owner’s main desire was to open up the kitchen and main living areas, they found it difficult to visualize as there were three different ceiling heights and several walls interfering with the view.

Details about the design:

We removed two walls and added support, connecting the ceiling heights for a continuous flowing view. When entering the home, you can see from the front of the home through the newly enlarged back doors to their beautiful patio.

This allowed us to expand the kitchen and dining space for an open concept throughout their main living area. The owners live in the outskirts of the city in a rural neighborhood and love the outdoors and wanted the kitchen to have a rustic and casual look and feel to their comfortable home.

We accomplished this with Knotty Alder cabinets, stained a warm, rich brown, that flows beautifully with their new engineered hardwood floors. For the countertops, the clients wanted something light with minimal movement, which we found in gorgeous Mont Blanc Quartzite which paired nicely with the natural and neutral tumbled stone and mosaic backsplash.
